My daughter turned three last month, and I did a frozen buttercream transfer of Caillou (PBS kids show character) and his cat. It turned out well! I wish I had gotten a better picture, but it was a disposable camera. I'm asking for a new digital for xmas! Also, I figured, why not include cute kiddos in the pics? So I had them pose.
Your transfer turned out really, really well. Good job.
Thanks! I used that recipe from cakecentral.com
That cake looks great! I love the "subtle" cake-licking going on there, too.
Thanks! Hmmm, I don't think she was really licking the cake. But I'm not sure!
Cute cake and cute kids! How do you do a transfer?
A frozen buttercream transfer turned out to be not difficult for me, and I'm an amateur (haven't even taken the Wilton cake decorating classes). But it was sort of time-consuming. I used the directions from cakecentral.com, and followed them to the letter, I think. It's an article on there, not stuff from the forums. http://www.cakecentral.com/article12-how-to-create-a-frozen.htmlI used the exact icing recipe recommended for it, and a tube of black decorators icing for the outlines. If I did it again, I might try a can of fudge icing like the author of the article mentions.I used gel colors (you can find them at Michael's), not liquid. I think that helped.
I just checked your userinfo, to make sure you weren't from outside the US, so you'd know what I meant by Michael's. And hey! I grew up in upstate NY! We're practically neighbors (by Adirondack standards, heh).
